It’s going well. I’m down 10 pounds but the main goal I had wasn’t even weight, it was to feel better. This week was the first time in about 3 years that I didn’t feel like I had the flu each day (without being on prednisone-ie. Predmonster). I started a new addition to my plan this week: bone broth. I didn’t know what I’d think of it but I love it. I’m less hungry and I have more energy so I’m considering this a success so far at feeling better. I have felt so terrible on a daily basis for months/years that it has been really difficult to exercise regularly unless on steroids. Now I can use the treadmill daily and do yoga without too much pain. If I keep losing weight too, this will be fabulous. My breakfasts have been mostly fresh berries and a GF sausage patty. It’s convenient and I can take it in the car with me as I travel to work. I have only packed my lunch as going out to eat would be too difficult at this point. Fruit, bone broth, and lunch meats have been a staple for lunch. Dinner has been a protein (chicken, steak, salmon) and fresh veggies (asparagus, broccoli, salad with kale). Cooking at home is far easier than trying to go out and avoid dairy as restaurants even put butter and sugar in their vegetables. Yesterday someone asked me if going cold turkey was hard and it really wasn’t. I am so determined to feel better and not be sick by everything I eat that it was pretty easy to drop it all….even sugar. I’m a known chocoholic and junk foodie so if you are too, you can do this. I realized yesterday I had not reached into my pantry once in a week. I only need my fridge for produce, meats, and veggies.
